I just used the tessel to monitor my latest batch of beer, which I ferment in a wine-cooler. I noticed that the readings were a little high (as discussed in other posts), so decided to see if there was a constant offset in difference or how stable it was.
For me it seems that this varies some, but I find it to be stable enough for my use. You can however read your own conclusions out of the data I collected: https://eiriksm.github.io/tessel-temp-calibration/
About the data:
- One tessel connected with the climate module in port B.
- One raspberry PI with a waterproof DS18B20 (which I have found to be very reliable)
- The last graph is the difference between the 2, in degress Celcius. An ideal graph here would of course be a straight line.
As the tabs suggests, the data was collected with the wine cooler on 3 settings: 10C, 15C and 3C.
Hope that is of interest to someone
Have a nice sunday!
