Tessel 2 should mount USB drives automatically (to /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1 in order of when you plugged them in). Are you trying to do something different here?
I'm just trying to write and read data from the drive but not sure how to do that.
Whoops, I told you the wrong paths above. I recommend you check out this guide for getting started with USB storage.
Thanks, somehow I wasn't able to find that tutorial. I formatted the storage with Tessel and had to reconnect the device twice to get automount working.
